Over the years, the Star Wars™ canon has developed a rich culture around those who reject the Jedi Order and strike out on their own. For the purposes of our work here in employing the mythos for advancement in the real world, we take the official canon definition that “a dark Jedi is anyone who practices the dark side of the Force whether or not they were a former Jedi.” A dark Jedi is someone who feels and uses the Force without observing the rules and code of the Jedi Order, and that is an extremely important point in what we do here at the Force Academy.
Why Star Wars?
This is a mythos that is rich but not particularly unique. Star Wars™ was itself inspired by myth and real world influences, so why not follow Buddhism or just read Joseph Campbell’s books?
We feel it is because the notion of Jedi as a spiritual warrior implies much more of an active role in your own development and your agency in the world than most other studies. There is a strong sense that the spiritual study is for a purpose, and not just an intellectual exercise; you are working on yourself, honing your skill, to meet challenges. You may be a warrior without a war, but you are preparing to meet a wide variety of very real challenges.

It is a very active pursuit that, if done sincerely and realistically, is applicable from waking to retiring every day. The Dark Jedi seek to make themselves unassailable by deciding our internal wishes ourselves before other external influences dictate it for us.
Getting Started
- * Join A Dark Aspect Community Group: We maintain a collection of Groups here at the Force Academy that are as easy as common discussion and as difficult as our custom training program.
- * Read Some of our Works in the Library: We have been around for a long time, and many of the Dark Aspect of contributed their insights. While not all of it reflects the current Dynasty training exactly, we value the different perspectives of our members, both past and present.
- * Get Aboard our Discord Chat: We use Discord for live chat, and there is a field in your profile to put the name you go by there. Stop by and participate.
- * Enroll in a Training course: We offer a training program here that leads a study of the self and personal power, starting with an inventory of how you think, your emotional responses, your worldly state and security, your will, and your relationship with the Force.
